The LESS they stay the same, these days! We’ve had some pretty big developments around here lately, and we’re really pretty excited about most of them!
The biggest announcement we have (for now!) is that Rob applied for and accepted a position with Dex Media in Tacoma, WA. Hooray! It’s been a LONG road, but after three months and 4+ interviews we finally got confirmation last week that they do indeed want to hire him on. We are thrilled! It’s a good job for him that will allow me to stay home with the punkin (if she ever decides to show up) and it really is an answer to prayers. Oddly enough they told him today at his current job with Sprint that the store he works at now will be closing the 26th of this month. So in that respect timing couldn’t be better with this new job.
However… It was originally discussed with Dex that, because of the baby’s due date, he wouldn’t start training until the end of May. When they gave him the official offer though, they changed that date to be April 19. Needless to say, we were a little shocked! That’s less than a week after my due date, and, as we’re finding out, babies don’t often come before they’re due. So we had to face the decision to either give up the new job and guarantee Daddy will be here to meet his baby girl, or take the job and hope and pray she gets here before he leaves. We chose to take the job of course, and now we’re just waiting for her to make her grand appearance! We don’t want to have to call him when it’s “time” and make him drive all the way home from Seattle!
Along with the new job of course comes a big move across the state. We’ve set that up to be mid-May, which means we’ll be moving with a brand new baby. Not my idea of fun but what can ya do? We found a great apartment and have (slowly) begun the packing process. Tomorrow is Rob’s last day at work and we’re trying to get as much done as we can before he leaves on Sunday. We’ve been busy! He does get to come home on the weekends, but for the next 4 weeks he’ll be busy in Seattle during the week training for his new position. We’ll miss him a lot!
As far as baby news, unfortunately there isn’t much to report. The doctor told us last week that there’s still pretty much no progression and she’s just happy where she is for now. I’m pretty tired but I feel good for the most part! If it wasn’t for Rob having to leave so soon we’d be content to just wait for her to get here. I really don’t want him to miss it though, so we might ask the doctor what our options are at our appointment tomorrow. Come out Punkin! We want to meet you!
Other things that have changed in the last few weeks:
- My age- I’m 28 now! We hoped the baby would join me on my birthday but she didn’t think that was such a good idea I guess.
- My computer- Dad has my desktop and now I have a laptop… surprising how much of a change that ended up to be for me! Switching computers and moving all our stuff is not much fun.
- My phone- Now that Rob’s no longer going to be a Sprint employee we all had to get new phones. I finally joined the cool kids with the touch screen phones! Yay! :)
I’d like to say I’m done with changes for a while, but of course once the baby arrives, EVERYTHING else will change, too! Wish us luck, we have a lot going on!!
Your going to be so much closer now to Oregon. Is your family in Spokane? It is tough to leave but if you can stay home with her that will be a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat as you. Our doctor changed her due date to Sunday the 11th and she is still a no show. Even with the 14th date I am thinking she is comfortable also and she doesn't want to come out. I know how you feel because we are both going through it.
Hopefully the next time we post it will be birth announcement news.
Oh yeah and I have a 21st induction date.
