Big Stuff!

We’ve had a big week this week, and it’s only Wednesday!

Monday was our two-year anniversary, and to celebrate, Emily decided she would (finally) roll over! She can now go from her back to her tummy if she sees a toy (or person) she wants. The only problem is that once she gets there, she remembers how much she HATES being on her belly and hollers until one of us comes to rescue her. So now we’re really trying to teach her how to roll back the other way, too. Not that she isn’t cute stuck on her tummy like a little turtle, but I’d like to get more than three feet away without having to come turn her back over.

She did it twice for the camera!

Now, as I’m sure most of you are aware, our sweet little Punkin is not a very good sleeper. We transitioned her to her crib about a month ago and she has just not been sleeping through the night at all. Heck, she’s not even sleeping through PART of the night anymore. For the last few weeks she’s been waking up three, four, sometimes five times a night. And mommy is about to lose her mind.

It was hard to tell if she just wanted to be up playing or if she really wanted to eat, because she nurses no matter what, but we determined she’s probably getting hungry in the middle of the night now. So, on the recommendation of many people (including her pediatrician), we tried out some baby cereal last night, hoping it would keep her full a little longer.

She did great! Well, mostly great as most of it ended up down the front of her, but she really seemed to like the cereal! We tried oatmeal and mixed it with breastmilk, and she thought it was just the greatest thing ever! She even seemed to get the hang of the whole open-food goes in-close- process.

(I’m a picture junky, what can I say?)

And after having a bit of a hard time getting her to bed, she slept from 10 pm to 5:30 am. HOORAY!!! Lets hope it wasn’t just a one-time thing. We’re going to try oatmeal again tonight and see what we get.

Now, if only she wanted to go to bed before 10 we’d be all set. :)
